Where I am…

I want to make a quick post to let any of my readers know why I haven’t posted in a while. I had made a goal for myself to post daily or as close as possible, excluding weekends. I have had a family emergency which is my number one priority right now. When things calm down again, I hope to come back and keep blogging and share with you more about my first year of homeschool, the successes and the less than ideals. This has been a rough week for my family. I am thankful to God that I have disciplined children to do their schoolwork by themselves during a time like this. Also we are so close to the end of our required number of days which is helpful so that I can turn my attention to where it’s needed most right now. Monday is officially our 180th day of school and law requirement met. We will finish out the week and I will issue report cards. After that time we will just be working on finishing up workbooks for practice and keep things fresh to be ready for the 2018/2019 school year. Glad I chose to test my my daughter earlier than now when most others are or it’d be tough right now. God has a way of making things work. Setting into motion things that maybe later you realize why it happened that way. Only He and with Him can the impossible be done.

Happy mother’s day all you mom’s. If your mother is still alive, don’t let one day pass without speaking to her, I wish I still could, but the Lord called her home 4 years ago.

Rainy Friday

HAPPY FRIDAY! Here in the mountain valley where I live in Pennsylvania, it’s raining. That means no outside classroom today. Rain makes the day feel cold, dark and dreary. Cats typically have the right idea on these drab days, sleep; as in all day! I could never do that because I have so much to do! Do you ever feel like that? I’m sure you do. You may think, “I’d really like to sleep in today”, or maybe consider a nap, but than you think of your to-do list and completely scrap that idea. Our lives can get so busy and so hurried that we forget sometimes to breathe, or in actuality, we as Moms often forget to eat. When you add the daily homeschool list of things to do, to an already long list of chores, it can easily become so over-whelming that the idea of just napping or sleeping all day is very appealing. Maybe we hope when we wake up that those chores magically go away. Of course, they do not. Kids need their homeschool supervisor to direct them and guide them and kids need their moms to feed them and care for them. If you have pets, they need your attention too. Kids, school, food, laundry, dishes, house, pets, husbands, jobs…..on and on the list goes. Sometimes it can feel like you’re being pulled in a million directions, doesn’t it?
